JOSH MEEKINGS
We are delighted to announce that Scottish Cup winning defender Josh Meekings has signed for Clachnacuddin.
Josh joins us after 3 seasons at Brora Rangers. Meekings won the Scottish Cup in 2015 whilst playing for Inverness Caledonian Thistle before a move to Dundee, where he was named captain. Josh then moved down south to play for Wealdstone before returning to the Highlands.
Our new defender had the following to say on his move “When Conor expressed his interest in having me join the club and Grant gave an outlook on the vision for the future, everything felt right for me. After discussing with Conor who he was looking to recruit and after seeing who he had already brought in, I felt I wanted to be a part of that. I enjoyed my time as part of the management team at Brora, and I have a deep passion for coaching. However, this new opportunity allows me the freedom to focus solely on playing again which I'm looking forward to. Having seen the younger boys within the squad over the past few seasons, I know there is talent here and I'm eager to contribute any experience I can to these boys on the pitch to support them.
I have always seen Clach as a bit of a sleeping giant and I'd love to be able to help in getting the team back to reach it's full potential. I can't wait to get going!”
Manager Conor Gethins had the following to say on the move “To secure a player of Josh’s caliber is a huge plus for the club. A former Scottish cup winner, a talker, a leader who has an incredible amount of experience and still only 31. Our young kids can learn and feed of what he will bring to training and games. This like Gavin Morrison is a statement of intent signing. The management team, players and board are not here to be 2nd bottom of the league anymore. We are here to push up the league and potentially win a cup competition along the way. Adding Josh is only going to enhance this and he will certainly make things much stronger in defence for us. I also want to thank the chairman and Grant Munro for their help in making these recent signings possible”

Welcome to Clachnacuddin, Josh.
