Brechin vs Clachnacuddin
Clach were held to a draw against promotion-chasing Brechin City as Scott Logan\'s 90th minute equaliser cancelled out James Anderson\'s earlier opener.
The Lilies made the arduous journey through to Angus buoyed by their midweek success against Huntly, but they faced a tough task against an opponent packed with SPFL experience. Conor Gethins made one change to the side that won against Huntly, with captain Harry Nicolson returning from suspension to replace Jacob Kerr.
The visitors had a bright start, with both Josh Meekings and his centre back partner Ben Cormack going close with headers in the opening stages. The Lilies\' best chance of the first half came after 35 minutes, as Craig Lawrie flashed a ball across the Brechin goal, but Troy Cooper was unable to get on the end of it.
The hosts responded with a great chance of their own, as Cillian Sheridan left Marc Scott\'s cut back for Dayle Robertson, but City\'s number 9 blasted his shot over the bar.
The first clear-chance of the second 45 fell to the hosts, as Robertson played Scott Bright in, but the St Johnstone loanee was only able to roll the ball into the gloves of Logan Ross.
With 70 minutes played, the visitors found the net. Craig Lawrie\'s inswinging cross found its way to the back post, where the ever-reliable James Anderson was on hand to knock the ball home.
And for much of the remaining 20 minutes, it looked like that goal would be enough to seal another big result for Conor Gethins’ men, as the hosts struggled to find a leveller. On 85 minutes, they ramped up the pressure, with Robertson seeing a powerful shot bruise the post. Defender Lewis Martin was the next to test Logan Ross, as he rose to meet Marc Scott\'s cross, but his header was a comfortable take for the keeper.
But it wasn\'t to be for the away side, as in the 90th minute, City found the equaliser they desperately needed. Sponsor’s Man of the Match Fraser Macleod switched the ball out to substitute Scott Logan, whose low shot beat Ross and found the back of the net via the post.
The Lilies continue to cause the top two problems in the Highland League as they take a well-earned point from Glebe Park. Next up for Clach they host bottom club Rothes at Grant Street Park.
